Anita Mae (Kemper) Dial, known to her family as “Shug” or “Granny,” passed away on May 23, 2018, at the age of 81 years. Anita is survived by her husband and best friend Al, their children Barbara, Rex, Margie, and Jeff; her ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; by her sister Bernardine Dial, her sisters-in-law Jessie Kemper and Sybol Dial; and numerous nieces and nephews. A long-time resident of Estancia, New Mexico, Anita served as substitute teacher in Willard, New Mexico, for two years, and she served as the secretary to the Estancia High School principal for nine-and-a-half years. She was elected Torrance County Clerk in 1975, where she faithfully served the residents of Torrance County for four years. She served as District Court Clerk for the Seventh Judicial District for fifteen years before she retired to spend many happy years with her husband and family. Anita was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Estancia, New Mexico, and served in many capacities, including treasurer, for many years. A celebration of Anita’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Estancia with viewing at 10:00 a. m., funeral service at 11:00 a. m., followed by interment at the Estancia Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, New Mexico.
