Andy Martinez

Andy Martinez, 74, passed away on November 10, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on April 9, 1946 in Edgewood, New Mexico to the late Andres and Irene (Pohl) Martinez. Andy taught us the importance of faith, family, and hard work. He had the voice of an angel and a love for music that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was our fearless leader, the glue that holds our family together. Andy was a man of great values, a patient teacher, advice giver and follower of Christ. Family always came first. He was a loving husband, the love of Nana’s life. He was a father of four children who he encouraged to follow their dreams and stood next to them to make it happen. He was a proud grandpa and great grandpa. He was always the first to lend a hand and help to get a job done. He was our hero, mentor, a role model and a best friend who will be missed by all. Andy is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mariaelena Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Martinez; son, Adam Martinez and wife Katharine; daughters, Lorieann Martinez and husband George Sanchez, Karen Hendricks and husband Dan and Rebecca Martinez and James Eversole and sisters, Mabel Martinez and Vivian Flores and husband Raymond J. Andy was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A Private Family Funeral Service will take place. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hendricks, Albino Gallardo Jr., Javier Gallardo, Tim Moraga, Samantha Hendricks and Elaina Hendricks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Estevan Gallardo, Julian Baldonado, Jayden Hendricks, Liam Martinez, Nathan Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Jazmin Eversole and Katlynn Moraga. Burial will be at the Martinez Cemetery in Edgewood, New Mexico.
