Adelina Astorga De Urbina

Adelina Astorga de Urbina, 54, got her angel wings on January 3, 2022 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on October 10, 1967 in Durango, Mexico to the late Pedro and Josefa (Uribe) Astorga. She is a longtime resident of Moriarty and will be so deeply missed by her family and friends. If you ask how Adelina would be remembered, she will be remembered as always being happy and strong. She had a contagious smile and laugh that would light up any room. She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and had a heart of gold. Adelina worked at Rip Griffin’s (TA) for 23 years before retiring. Adelina spent the last of her years being a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. Adelina treasured spending time with her husband and kids, but it was her grandchildren that she so truly adored. Spending time with them was the highlight of her life. She was incredibly proud of her children. Her two sons became police officers serving the community she loved and grew up in. Her oldest son, Adan Urbina became Chief of Police for the City of Moriarty and her middle son Saul Urbina became Sergeant for the Town of Edgewood and her daughter is a successful Office Administrator for a busy Dental office. Adelina married the love of her life, Manuel Urbina December 18, 1984. They shared a wonderful life together with their children and grandchildren. Adelina is also preceded in death by her sister in law, Guadalupe Astorga. She is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Manuel Urbina; sons, Adan Urbina and Saul Urbina (Kathy); daughter, Ami Urbina-Barraza (Esbardo); brother, Gregorio Astorga; sisters, Maria de Jesus Astorga, (Elidio), Antonia Astorga (Francisco), Elia Astorga (Alejandro) and Carmella Astorga (Carlos) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Adelina was blessed with beautiful grandchildren, Nevaeh, Monique, Mia, and little baby Barraza who will be here in February of 2022. A Viewing will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, New Mexico. Funeral Services will be held at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, New Mexico on Saturday, January 8, 2022. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M. with the Celebration of Mass to follow at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, New Mexico. Pallbearers are Henry Torrez, Jarrod Balaskovits, Daniel Diaz, Alejandro Sandoval, Carlos Melero and Ricardo Astorga.
