Addie Josephine Smith

Addie Josephine Smith, 81, passed away on November 17, 2020 in Brighton, CO. She was born on July 15, 1939 in Stanley, New Mexico to the late Everett and Mary May (Gates) Dennisson. Addie Jo was a resident of Stanley, New Mexico for 73 years. After her husband, Jack, passed she resided in Fort Lupton Colorado until her final days. She worked at the Landon Store for over 20 years. Addie enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes with her husband, playing games and doing puzzles with her grandchildren. A good book was a favorite past time. Cooking and baking for her family gave her joy. Addie had the heart of a servant, doing just that by serving the Stanley community. Mothering children of all ages was never a chore for her, seeing as how it gave her fulfillment. When watching a good Denver Broncos game, Addie Jo would cheer the loudest with one of her beautiful smiles. She loved her Lord Jesus and served him with all she could. She always prayed for her family and read from her favorite bible every night. Saying she couldn’t sleep without a few scriptures on her mind. She loved her family deeply and wholeheartedly. Addie Jo will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Addie is also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Smith; daughter, Samatha Smith; siblings, Jimmy Dennisson, Nora Ann Todd, Clara Virginia Dennisson and Marilyn Kempenich and great grandson, JR Smith. Addie is survived by her sons, Jack Smith and wife Susan, David Smith, Gary Smith and wife Jan, Dale Smith and wife Joann and William Smith and wife Sharon; daughters, Rita Grimes and husband Gib, Lou Tinnin and husband Orville and Kathy Martinez and husband Carlos and brother, Larry Dennisson and wife Dorothy. Addie was blessed with 22 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. A Private Family Service will take place at the Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Chad Tinnin, David Smith, Leo Dennisson, Thomas Dennisson and Timothy Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Orville Tinnin, Jack Smith, Larry Dennisson, Scotty Dennisson, Jimmy Dennisson, Ronnie Dennisson and Dan Sowle.
