Manuel Eloy Sanchez

Sanchez, Manuel E. (Ikie) 95 a life time resident of Estancia NM went to be with our Lord on Monday March 31, 2008. Manuel was born to Juan Cruz and Rita Sanchez on February 18, 1913. He graduated from Estancia High School and served in the US Army during World War 11. After the military service he worked for the Post Office in Estancia with his brother Robert until his retirement. He continued to reside in Estancia until his death. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents and was the last surviving sibling of 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife Evelina, a step son Larry and 5 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren and many loyal and loving nephews and nieces. A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty, NM from 3:00-5:00 PM. A rosary will be recited Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. A mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM at 10:00AM. Father William Young officiating. Interment will follow at the Estancia Catholic Cemetery in Estancia, NM. Pallbearers will be Ermenes Perea, Johnny Chavez, Gilbert Zamora, Pat Gallegos, Don Vigil, and Bob Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be Margaret Sanchez, Albert Carabajal, Charlie Tafoya, Tony Tafoya, Richard Tafoya, and Larry Zamora.
