Pete “Geo” S. Chavez, 49 of Moriarty passed away on September 9, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM at UNM Hospital. Pete was born December 29, 1955 in Tecolote, NM, to Roman Cristobal Chavez and Aggie (Valdez) Chavez, being the middle child and only son. He grew up in Longmont, CO where he attended elementary through high school. Pete was very athletic. He loved sports, participating in track, football, and basketball; but his love was for wrestling. He received lots of awards and ribbons but he was exceptionally proud of the President Nixon award he received, as an all-around athlete. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling but his heart’s desire was to be along the Los Angeles beach. His good heart and smile touched many people. He enjoyed talking and laughing. His laugh would make you laugh. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, even to people he did not know. He was a very caring and compassionate person.
