Benito "Bennie" Maes

Benito (Bennie) Maes, 92, a lifelong resident and rancher of Progresso and Willard went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2008 with his loving family by his side. Bennie was born on February 19, 1916 to Francisco and Alicia (Vigil) Maes. He is survived by his daughters Romualda Garley of Albuquerque, NM; Isabel Maes of Alamogordo, NM; Tina Barnes and husband Gene of Santa Fe, NM; and Roberta Pohl and husband Alfred of Chilili, NM; sons, Art and wife Margie of Albuquerque, NM; Ronald and wife Liz of Tajique, NM; Frank and wife Karen of Willard, NM; 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Lueras; Mollie Torres; sisters’-in-law, Jesusita and Maria Maes all of Albuquerque, NM. Bennie was preceded in death by his wife Esquipula, his parents, his sister Maria, and brothers Ambrocio, Epifanio and Enriquez, and son-in-law Butch. A rosary will be recited on Monday, October 27, 2008 at 7:00 pm and a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 10:30 am at Our lady of Sorrows Church in Willard, NM with Father Anthony Maes officiating.
