Leonard Eugene Mathes

Leonard Eugene Mathes, 81, of Moriarty, NM passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008 with his loving family beside him. Leonard was born in Downing, MO to Harry Clements and Irma May (Peck) Mathes. He married Lois Ilene Kutzner on June 3, 1949. She preceded him in death along with his son, Terry Lee Mathes. Leonard was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He was a WWII Army veteran, receiving a WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal in Japan. He is survived by his son, Jeremy K. Mathes; daughter, Denise R. (Mathes) Beasley and her husband Terry Beasley; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Mathes; brothers, George; Mounty; and Harry Jr. Mathes; sister, Rosella Hamilton; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held in Memphis, MO. Arrangemments entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
