Betty Rose Johnson, 79, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at her home in Moriarty, NM. Betty was born in Kansas City, MI on January 1, 1930 to Vernie E. and Leta M. (Rule) Melloway. Betty was a volunteer at Bethel Storehouse, she was Volunteer of the Year in 2005. She loved to have coffee every morning with her friends. She retired from the Moriarty School system in 1992. She loved to read, and loved working the yard. She was a great cook! She was a Christian woman, growing up in Assembly of God churches. She had lived in Moriarty, NM since 1975 coming from Albuquerque, NM. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Leo Johnson and son, Kenneth Leo Johnson; brothers, Kenneth and Gene Melloway; and sister, Evelyn Rielly. She is survived by one daughter, Bernice Coleman and her husband Aaron of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Hazel Enlow of Moriarty, NM, Maxine Crumwell of Columbia, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
