Evelyn Mae Black, 80, of Edgewood, NM passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM with her loving family beside her. Evelyn was born on July 24, 1928 in Gibsonia, PA to Charles and Virginia (Vaughn) Hardt. Evelyn was a member of the Lions Club, the Home Extension, and the Edgewood Senior Citizens where she was involved in Acrylic Painting and taught Ceramics there. She and her husband were also very active in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for 18 years. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Edith Hardt; and Irene Hardt. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Black Sr., of Edgewood, NM; sons, Robert George Black Jr., of Melbourn, FL; William Donald Black and wife Sherrie of Tampa, FL; Dwight David Black and LouAnn Davis of Las Vegas, NV; Bryan Keith Black and wife Julie of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Janet Louise Chavez-Dishong and husband Donald of Edgewood, NM; brother, Charles Hardt Jr.; 17 grandchildren; 17 ½ great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 7:00PM at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. Pastor Tom Schenk will be officiating.
