W. Lee Thomas

W. Lee Thomas, 88, of Mountainair, NM went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 10, 2005. Lee was born in Willard, NM on October 16, 1916 to Walter William and Sarah E. (Castlebury) Thomas. He married Dorothy Ruth Flemins July 24, 1936 in Los Lunas, NM. Lee worked for the Central New Mexico Electric Cooperative in Mountainair for 29 ½ years before retiring. He was active in the Mountainair Senior Citizens Center. Lee will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. His loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy; a daughter, Carolyn Ruth Hollon and her husband Carl; and grandchildren, Lee and Crystal Hollon, Tom and Kandy Perkins, and Shawn and Lori Perkins; step-granddaughter Cheryl Kelley, her daughter, and grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several special nieces and nephews survives Lee. A daughter, Pat Perkins, and a grandson, Allen Hollon, preceded him in death. There will be a Funeral Service for Lee at the Mountainair Assembly of God church in Mountainair, NM on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Pastors Ed Rimer, Vernie Wells and Norman Lindsey will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Lee Hollon, Tom Perkins, Shawn Perkins, J.E. Wells, Wess Wells, and Mike Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Hollon, Kenny Shaw, his church family, and all his friends. Interment to follow at the Roundtop Cemetery in Mountainair, NM.
