Fred Clifford Wheaton

Fred Clifford Wheaton, 61, of Stanley, NM, passed away on Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 at his home. Fred was born December 22nd, 1947, in Lindsy, CA to Ollie and Burla Jeanne (Routh). He married Elaine Gomez-Murray in California on November 24th, 1979. Fred lived in Stanley for five years and nine months, after retiring from California. Fred served as a Santa Fe County Deputy Sheriff. Fred was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, the best Papa, and grandpa. He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp. Fred is preceded in death by his parents and grandson. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; two sons, Jeffery Wheaton and his wife Rhonda of San Diego, CA and Stephen Murray and his wife Jacquelyn of Belton, TX; his daughter, Stephenee Dyreson of Fullerton, CA; his sisters, Phyllis Marcom and Shirley Tustin; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. The Funeral Service will be at the Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal at 367 State Road 344 at the corner of Hill Ranch Road in Edgewood, NM, on Saturday, July 18th, 2009, at 5:00PM with Fr. Raymond Raney officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Wheaton, Stephen J. Murray II, Jared Dyreson, Jakob Murray, Stephenee Dyreson, Jacquelyn Crace-Murray and Rhonda Wheaton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chloe Dyreson, Jadelyn Betsy Murray and Emily Wheaton. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Fred Wheaton Memorial Fund at Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal.
