Hazel Earlene Burton, 72, of Corona, NM passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at her home with her loving family beside her. Hazel was born August 27, 1935 in Clovis, NM to Charles and Dorothy (Taylor) Koch. Hazel married Robert Henry (Bob) Burton on March 15, 1955 in Ft. Sumner, NM. The strength and magic of their 53 year marriage and love story continues to inspire their family and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corona, the Corona Senior Citizens, the Cedarvale Quilting Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Koch. She is survived by her husband Bob; son, Clay Burton of Corona, NM; daughters, Shirley Jay and husband John of Garland, TX; Sherry Flowers of Blythe, CA; Shelly Swanson and husband Steve of Littleton, CO; stepbrother Dellis Upton of Portales, NM; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. A viewing will be held Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Corona, NM from 10:00-11:00 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor Cal West will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Corona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darren Kunkel, Kyle Swanson, Chase Burton, Lance Swanson, Chisum Burton, Jeff Kunkel and Craig Swanson.
