Arcenia Mary Salazar, 87, of Moriarty, NM passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. Arcenia was born on July 7, 1922 in Wagon Mound, NM to Bences and Frances M. (Martinez) Sandoval. Arcenia was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Albuquerque, currently belonging to the Crossroads Bible Fellowship Church in Moriarty. She worked in the church nursery for many many years and was known to all the many children she cared for as “Grandma Mary”. She loved all of them and they loved her as we did. Arcenia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Salomon B. Salazar, who passed away in 2001; brother, Manuel Sandoval; and two great grandsons, James Gallegos and Benjamin Gallegos. She is survived by her son, Salomon Leo Salazar of Poway, CA; two daughters, Gloria M. Gallegos and her husband, Laudente of Moriarty, NM, and Estella D. Montoya of San Diego, CA; brothers, Moises Sandoval and Gilbert Sandoval; sisters, Aurora Mondragon, Minnie Duran and Priscilla; nine grandchildren, Laudente Gallegos Jr., Ron Gallegos, Arnie Gallegos, David Gallegos, Robin Aragon, Tammy Romero, Tim Simmons, Monica Montoya and Naomi Montoya; 18 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 5:00PM at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM with Pastor Gale Holt. The burial will take place at a later date in Wagon Mound, NM
