Richard E. Armijo, Sr., 67, of Moriarty, NM, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM. Richard was born December 1, 1937 in Encino, NM to Carlos and Lucy (Chavez) Armijo. He married Eliria Maez in Cebolla, NM on June 18, 1960. Richard was a successful business owner for over 30 years, and had worked for the City of Moriarty before retiring. He served in the United States Air Force as a jet mechanic. Richard took pride in raising his family and keeping them close to each other and stressed the importance of giving our lives to the Lord. Besides loving the Lord with all his heart, he loved and cherished his wife, best friend, and partner…Eliria. Richard is survived by his wife Eliria; sons, Richard E. Armijo, Jr. and his wife Susie, Jerome Armijo and his wife Marnie, and Carlos Armijo and his wife Lisa; daughters, Helen (Karen) Alarid and her husband Carl, and Carol Hernandez and her husband Carlo all of Moriarty, NM; brothers, Herman Armijo and his wife Mary Ann, and Jerry Armijo and his wife Shirley all of Wagon Wheel, NM; sisters, Jane Lovato of Wagon Wheel, NM, Daisy Maldonado and her husband Hermino of Albuquerque, NM, and Corrine Page and her husband Arthur of Moriarty, NM; brother-in-law Abel Lueras of Los Chavez, NM; and grandchildren, Jerome, Jr., Mel, Rickie, Jolynn, Emily, Carlynn, Charlie, Carlyse, and one on the way. His parents, Carlos and Lucy Armijo, and sister Sally Lueras preceded him in death. A Funeral Service for Richard will be held Thursday, August 11, 2005 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Moriarty, NM. Pastor Jerry Dye will be officiating. Interment to follow at the Mountainview Cemetery in Moriarty, NM. Pallbearers will be Richard E. Armijo, Jr., Jerome Armijo, Carlos Armijo, Jerome Armijo, Jr., Carl Alarid, and Carlo Hernandez. Honorary pallbearers will be Rickie Armijo, Charlie Armijo, Melanie Armijo, Jolynn Alarid, Carlynn Alarid, Emily Armijo, and Carlyse Hernandez.
