Ellen "Mickie" Poling

July 11, 1928 — September 17, 2005

Today the world is short one fighting Irish. Ellen “Mickie” Poling passed away Saturday, September 17, 2005 in her home with her loved ones. The New Jersey native came to Moriarty in 1980 and flourished for 25 years in the community she loved. Mickie will be missed as the Matriarch of a dynamic family she built and held together with unwavering strength. Her children, Bunny Carbone and her husband John, Dawn Page and her husband Stuart, and Billy Poling and his wife Donna, as well as her grandchildren Danielle, Matthew and Michael Page, and Morgan Thomas and her husband Jarrod survive her. All of whom felt the full force of her love, support, and infinite patience. Mickie will be remembered as a colorful and charismatic woman who redefined the phrase “what’s mine is yours”. There wasn’t a person who met her who could walk away unaffected, and the friends she made, she made for life. Mickie will be honored for her remarkable courage, stubborn determination, and incredible generosity. She lived life on her own terms. She carved her way using only a hammer and chisel, but in the end, left a path wide enough for us all to follow. She will be in our hearts always. There will be a Memorial Service for Mickie on Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
