Maria Inez Garcia

Maria Inez Garcia, 72, of Mountainair, NM passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM with her loving family beside her. Maria was born May 1, 1933 in San Mateo, NM to Frank and Pablita (Barela) Mirabal. Maria worked as a custodian for the Moriarty Public Schools until she retired. She was active with the Storehouse Thrift Store in Mountainair, NM. Maria is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gonzalo S. Garcia; children, Jose Aguirre and wife Sarah, Gloria Aguirre, Robert Garcia and wife Sally, Jose Garcia and wife Roberta, Frankie Garcia, Rosalia Hidalgo and husband Frank, and Jackie Garcia; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Larry Mirabal, Phyllis Saiz, Lencho Mirabal, Lio Mirabal, Mike Mirabal, and Monico Mirabal. Her parents, Frank and Pablita Mirabal preceded her in heath. Maria will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved her. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 7:00 PM at the St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 3:00 PM at the St Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM. Father Ron Stone will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Vicente Aguirre, Shaun Girgo, Daniel Garcia, John Garcia, Paul Benavidez, and Joseph Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Aguirre, Michael Aguirre, and Tony Garcia. Interment to follow at the Mountainair Catholic Cemetery in Mountainair, NM.
