Marvin Ross Plant, 77, of Moriarty, NM passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. Marvin was born in McIntosh, NM on January 24, 1932 to Thomas Carry and Lucille Alma (David) Plant. Marvin was a longtime resident of Moriarty. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. On April 12, 1963 he married Roxanne Howe. He was a member of the American Legion Post 74. In his early teens he worked at Blackie’s, gaining experience in all areas of that business from cook to gas station attendant/mechanic. After working in many different professions he retired as a school bus contractor in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Tom, Jack, Bob, and John Plant. He is survived by his wife Roxanne of Moriarty; two sons, Tom and his wife Kristi Plant of Miles City, MT, and Lee and his wife Libbie of Lovington, NM; brother Thomas Plant and his wife Vera of Moriarty; two sisters, Alma Kellogg of Albuquerque, NM, and Vera Bigham and her husband Dick of Rio Rancho, NM; four grandchildren, Tomi Simenson of Chinook, MT, Kyleigh Plant of Billings, MT, Clay Plant of Lovington, NM, and Cydnee Plant of Lovington, NM; and great-grandson, Wylee Simenson of Chinook, MT. Cremations have taken place. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 10:00 am at the Moriarty Church of Christ with the burial to follow at the Estancia Cemetery in Estancia, NM at 1:00 pm.
