Dale Winiford Goar

Dale Winiford Goar, 42, of Rio Rancho, NM passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009 in Bernalillo NM. Dale was born on April 3, 1967 in Albuquerque, NM to Glenn Winiford and Lynda Christine (Engle) Goar. He was a resident of Rio Rancho, NM since 2001, formally of Mountainair, NM. Dale is preceded in death by his grandfather Darnell Goar; grandparents, W.H. & Clara Engle; and niece, Ashley Renee` Goar. He is survived by his father Glenn W. and mother Lynda Goar of Mountainair, NM; brother, Dewayne and his wife Darla Goar and nephew, Glenn Tyler Goar of Alto, NM; grandmother, Pearl Goar of Mountainair, NM; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was employed as an IT Computer Program specialist at Educational Retirement Board (ERB) of NM. On May 17, 1983, he was inducted to the High School National Honor Society of secondary schools at Mountainair High School. He graduated from Mountainair High School in 1985 as Salutatorian. He received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics in 1991 from Western NM University in Silver City, NM. As an avid fan of Rio Rancho High School Sports, he received the Adult Category Class AAAAA Sportsmanship Award from the NM Activities Association in 2005. Services will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Mountainair, in Mountainair, NM. The viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be immediately following at the Mountainair Cemetery in Mountainair, NM. Rev. Paul Gerritson and Rev. Albert Hagan will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Dewayne Goar, Ty Goar, Chuck Montjoy, Charlie Montjoy, John Montjoy, Leon Autrey, and Larry Autrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Valerie Duran and all former and present co-employees of the ERB. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ashley Goar Foundation at PO Box 635, Alto, NM 88312 or to the NM Baptist Children's Home in Portales, NM.
