Bettye Lou Collins

Bettye Lou Collins, 68, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Bettye was born on December 05, 1939 in Arapaho, Oklahoma to Lawrence James Smith and Florence (Beall) Gatewood. She married James Irvin Collins in Tecumsch, Oklahoma on May 21, 1960. She was a longtime resident of Moriarty, New Mexico. Bettye is preceded in death by her parents; and step-father Keith Gatewood. She is survived by her husband, of Stanley; son, Steven and wife Carla Sue of Albuquerque; and grandson, Caleb James Collins; and step-mother, Irene Smith. There will be a viewing at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 4:00 to 6:00PM. Services for Bettye will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 10:00AM with Brother Hunt officiating. Pallbearers will be Freddy Apodaca, Jim Bob Pachta, Max Lopez, Bob Smith, Harry Davis, Scott Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Socorro Hernandez and Tooter Davis. Final Disposition will be at Mountain View Cemetery. The family has requested donations be made to Bethel United Methodist Church or to Animal Humane Association of New Mexico.
