Joey Allen Chavez

Joey Allen Chavez, 28, of Torreon, NM passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2010. Joey was born on August 25, 1981 in Albuquerque, NM to Mike and Virginia (Vigil) Chavez. Joey was a lifetime resident of Torreon. He graduated from Del Norte High School and was a member of the Believer Center of Albuquerque. Joey is survived by his parents, Mike and Virginia Chavez of Torreon; grandmother, Helen Chavez; brothers, Isaac Chavez and Sonia Vigil of Albuquerque, Michael Chavez Jr. and his wife Natalie of Albuquerque, and Anthony Chavez of Torreon; sisters, Angel Chavez, Luyine Chavez and Isaac Luna of Albuquerque, and Janell Gutierrez and her husband James of Torreon; and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a Christian Service on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Torreon Community Center in Torreon, NM. There will be a Rosary on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 9:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Torreon, NM with Fr. William Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Torreon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac Chavez, Michael Chavez Jr., Anthony Chavez, James Gutierrez, Juan Trujillo, and Franky Vigil. Honorary Pallbearers will be Isaac Luna, Jordan Luna, Richard Weis, Juan Jantz and Raymond Luna.
