Ernest “Red” Benjamin Barclay, 85, of Moriarty, NM passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. Red was born on June 26, 1926 in Topeka, KS to Henry and Clara Belle (Mosley) Barclay. Red was a longtime resident of Moriarty. He married Iva Coffee, on Valentine’s Day in 1987. He was a member of the VFW, 3370, 9354 and District Commander of the American Leagon. Red is survived by his wife, Iva Barclay; step-daughter Irene Morgigno; brother, Stuart Barclay; sisters, Clare Belle Perkins, Dorothy Farr and Georgie Wilson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Barclay, Ed Barclay and Richard Barclay and sisters, Elizabeth Stroder, Marie Barclay and Phyllis Watkins. There will be a memorial service at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary on Monday, February 1, 2010 from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. followed by military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Robert Barclay, William Barclay, Vince Tapia, Lloyd Vanderhoff, Ross Legon and Vergil Coffee.
