Domingo Barela

Domingo Barela, 60, of Tajique, NM passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at his home with his loving family beside him. Domingo was born on April 6, 1949 in Tajique, NM to Domingo and Adelita (Aragon) Barela. Domingo lived in Tajique for the past 60 years. He was a member of the San Antonio Catholic Church in Tajique. Domingo was a loving father, brother, and son. Domingo was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Onofre and Jeff Barela. He is survived by his sons, Dominic and Gabe Barela; daughter, Adella Barela; brothers, Victor, Felix, Gilbert, Ray and James Barela; sisters, JoAnn Romero, Yolanda Ballejos, Viola Johnson, Nellie Candelaria, Sally Chavez, Romelia Knoell, Prescilla Garcia, and Rafaelita Espinosa; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 6:30PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. Mass will be on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:00AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM with Rev. Kevin Iwuoha officiating. Burial will follow at the San Antonio Catholic Cemetery in Tajique, NM. Pallbearers will be Felix Barela, Gilbert Barela, Victor Barela, Ray Barela Sr., Eddie Johnson, and Gabe Barela. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryan Sanchez, Aaron Barela, Victor Dean Barela, Ray Barela Jr., and Dixon Barela.
