Rosendo Ross Saiz

Rosendo “Ross” Saiz, 63, of Moriarty, NM passed away Thursday, February 1, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. Ross was born October 23, 1943 in Los Rincones, NM to Prospero and Guadalupe Saiz. Ross attended and graduated from Moriarty High School in 1963.He Ross worked in the Estancia Valley, farming for a couple of years, then moved to the Texas Panhandle, working as a ruff neck and driller. Ross was blessed with two sons (Larry & Jack). He then moved back to Moriarty in 1971, and started to work for the City of Moriarty, while employed with the City he was involved with the first paved runway at the Moriarty Municipal Airport, the Waste Water and Water Plant. Ross helped build the Rodeo Arena (putting in many unaccounted for hours). In 1986 Ross married Juana Montoya and gained three more sons: (Arturo, Miguel and Marcelino). He became very active with the 4-H and with the FFA programs. In 1998 Ross retired from the City of Moriarty after 27 dedicated years of service. Two years later Ross came back to the City of Moriarty to help with the building of the AABC Sports Complex. At the present time, Ross was working as the City of Moriarty’s Planning & Zoning Enforcer. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Frank Saiz; sisters, Terry Saiz and Addie Tafoya. Ross is survived by his mother, Guadalupe Saiz of Moriarty, NM; wife, Juana Saiz of Moriarty, NM; sons, Rosendo (Larry) Saiz and wife Lydia of Roswell, NM; Jack E. Saiz and Fiancé Sally of Albuquerque, NM; Arturo Pacheco and Fiancé Wrenn of Moriarty, NM; Miguel Pacheco of Moriarty, NM; Marcelino Pacheco and Fiancé Vanessa of Moriarty, NM; sisters, Mary Quintero of Moriarty, NM; Alice Williams of Moriarty, NM; Pasty Rubi and husband Ernest of Mountainair, NM; grandson, Dominic and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited on Friday, February 02, 2007 at 7:00 PM at the Moriarty Civic Center in Moriarty, NM. A mass will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Moriarty Civic Center in Moriarty, NM; Father William Young will be officiating. Pallbearers are Rosendo “Larry” Saiz, Jack E. Saiz, Arturo Pacheco, Miguel Pacheco, Marcelino Pacheco and Robert Saiz. Honorary Pallbearers will be all Past and Present Mayors and Council Men and all Moriarty City Employees. Internment will follow at Mount Cameral Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM.
