Cayetano Chavez Sr, 74, of Moriarty, NM passed away August 14, 2006 at his Moriarty home. Cayetano was born April 1, 1932 to Antonio and Flora Chavez in Palma, NM. Cayetano has been a resident of Moriarty, NM for 74 years and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. He married the love of his life Celeste Chavez on October 13, 1952 in Mountainair, NM. Cayetano was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tony; Frank; Ramon; Henry; Able; Juan; sisters, Eloisa and Mary. He is survived by his wife, Celeste Chavez of Moriarty, NM; son, Cayetano Chavez Jr, of Moriarty, NM; daughters, Gloria and husband Andy Winn of Edgewood, NM; Verna Chavez and fiancé Bruce Jones of Moriarty, NM; Linda and husband Walter Wilcox of Moriarty, NM; Rosemary and husband Carl Wilcox of Moriarty, NM; Dora and husband Kenny Poyner of Moriarty, NM; brothers, Toby Chavez; Jack Chavez; sisters, Maggie Chavez; Mary Frances Chavez; 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. A mass will be Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 10:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM. Father William Young will be officiating. Pallbearers are George Martinez, Johnny Martinez, J.R. Chavez, Abran Apodaca Jr., Danny Apodaca and Joey Astorga. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond Martinez and Walter Wilcox. Arrangements entrusted to
