Mary Frances Chavez

CHAVEZ, MARY FRANCES—Mary Frances Chavez, 90, of Wagon Wheel passed away on August 24, 2007 at her daughter's home in Albuquerque. A longtime resident of Wagon Wheel, Mary was born on April 30, 1917 to Antonio and Florencia Chavez in Elvenado, New Mexico. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family she was a longtime Waitress. She had worked for the longhorn restaurant, Blackie’s Restaurant and Clines Corners Restaurant. She loved sewing, making quilts and embroidering cows. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Chavez, her parents, Her Brothers and sisters, Raymond, Frank, Juan, Cayetano, Enriques, Abel, Antonio Eloisa, all Chavez and Mary Bachicha. Mary has also out lived her children, Gloria Gibson and son in law, Angus Gibson, and children Juanita, David, and Sony. Granddaughter, Darline Gibson and Companion, Victor Bazaldua also precedes her. Mary is survived by her son Richard Chavez and wife Gloria of Wagon Wheel, Her daughter, Grace Chavez and husband George Hern of Albuquerque. Also surviving her is her brothers, Toby and Jack Chavez of Mortiarty and her sister Margaret Chavez of Moriarty. Also, her sisters in laws, Mary Chavez of Portales and Celeste Chavez of Moriarty survive her, as well as her brother in law, Joe Bachicha of Roswell. Mary is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 Great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild. Visitation for Mary will be from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Monday August 27, 2007 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Funeral Mass for Mary will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday August 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic with Father Young officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers for Mary will be, Christopher Elmer Ortiz, Richard “Dickie” Chavez, David Gibson, Michael Gibson, Lester Brazfield and Tony Quintana. Honorary Pallbearers for Mary will be Toby Chavez, Jack Chavez, Cayetano Chavez Jr., Willie Chavez and Willie Romero.
