Richard Lee Coburn, 75, of Estancia, NM passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, October 1, 2010. Richard was born in Estancia, NM on November 24, 1934 to Raymond “Bud” and Wanda (Compton) Coburn. He was a lifetime resident of Estancia. He married Marilyn McMath in Estancia on April 14, 1954 where they raised their son and two daughters. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Estancia where he served as Deacon since 1978. He was Chief of the Estancia Volunteer Fire Department for many years and also an EMT. He was a member of the Torrance County Sheriff’s Posse and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Coburn; son, Rick and his wife Deb Coburn of Albuquerque; daughters, Pam Burchett and her husband Bill of Estancia, Lynn Noyes of Estancia; brother, Duane Coburn and his wife Lorena of Estancia; sisters, Ruth Pavao and her husband Frank of Estancia, Doris Carroll of Las Cruces and Linda Crater of Estancia; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00PM at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. The Celebration of Life will be at the First Baptist Church in Estancia, NM on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 10:00AM with Rev. Jonathan D. Richard officiating. Pallbearers will be all of Richard’s grandchildren, Sandy Hill, Art Burchett, Ryan Coburn, Bethany Coburn, Brent Noyes, and Ashlee Noyes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Schmidt, Danny Prather, Josh Oberg, Kevin Austin, Don Mitchell, Clay Pope, W.C. “Dub” Artman and Derrell Winn. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to First Baptist Church, Field of Dreams, PO Box 528, Estancia, NM.
