Frances Yvonne Akin

Frances “Yvonne” Akin, 57, passed away Monday October 16, 2006, in Albuquerque, NM. Yvonne was born October 4, 1949, in Albuquerque, NM, to Ben and Etta (Hills) Godec. She married Robert “Bob” Akin on November 22, 1969, in Stanley, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Mikayla Yvonne Smythe. She is survived by her loving husband Bob Akin of 36 years, son Mike Akin, daughter Denise Smythe and her husband Todd Smythe, and granddaughter Taylor Smythe all from Ewing. One brother Chuck and his wife Kathy Godec of Moriarty; two nieces Sarah Taylor and Anna Wallin; and one nephew David Godec. Special friends Carolyn and Larry Bizzell and Joe Perea. Yvonne was a resident of the Estancia Valley for 57 years. She will be deeply missed by all. There will be a memorial service Friday, October 20, 2006, at 10:00 at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Estancia, NM, JR Noblitt officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, NM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Mikayla Yvonne Smythe 4-H Memorial Fund located at Wells Fargo Bank in Estancia.
