Onecima Marquez

Onecima Marquez, 91, of Mountainair, NM peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Onecima was born on November 22, 1919 in Manzano, NM to Macedonio and Eduvigen (Giron) Saiz. She was a lifetime resident of Torrance County. Onecima was preceded in death by her parents, Macedonio and Eduvigen Saiz; husband, Eddie Marquez; and fifteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons, Edwin Marquez of Mountainair, NM; Eddie Marquez and his wife Rosemary of Las Cruces, NM; daughters, Delia Ernestine Ferguson and her husband Frank of Mountainair, NM, Anna Isabel Taylor and her husband Mark of Mountainair, NM, and Mary Ester Marquez of Moriarty, NM; brother, Benito Saiz of Mountainair, NM; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 7:00PM at St. Alice Chruch in Mountainair. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:00AM at St. Alice Church in Mountainair, NM with Rev. Fr. William Young officiating. Pallbearers will be Seferino Reynaga, Cristobal Reynaga, Rafael Reynaga, Marcus Allen Taylor, Joshua Marquez and Ruben Marquez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Daniel Aguilar and Manuel Hidalgo. Burial will follow at the Mountainair Catholic Cemetery.
