Mary Elena Chavez

Mary Elena Parraz Chavez, 79, of Moriarty, NM passed away on Monday, November 13, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM with her loving family beside her. Mary was born November 6, 1927 in Vaughn, NM to Rumaldo and Carmelita (Vigil) Parraz. Mary married Manuel Chavez on January 18, 1951 in Vaughn, NM and is a member of the Mount Carmel’s Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Vicente Parraz; Basilio Parraz; Andres Parraz; Leo Parraz; sisters, Erlinda Clark; and Domitilla Baca. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Manuel Chavez; son, Manuel and wife Beth Chavez of Moriarty, NM; daughter, Elena Helen and husband Charles Archibeque of Ardmore, OK; brother, Joe Parraz; sister, Emelia Gutierrez; nine grandchildren and five in a half great grandchildren. There will be a viewing Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty, NM from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM, Father Young will be officiating. A Mass will be held Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM, Father Young will be officiating. Internment will follow at Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty, NM. Pallbearers are Michael Chavez, Greg Alexander, Manuel A. Chavez, Markes Chavez, Nick Chavez, and Matt Gayner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kim Gayner, Andrea Archibeque, Carla Archibeque, Nicole Gibbons, Nancy Apodaca, Destiny Alexander, Avery Alexander, Ethan Alexander, Caleb Gayner and Trajan Chavez.
