George Oscar Johnson

George Oscar Johnson, 83, of Estancia, NM passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. George was born on April 9th 1927 in Coatsfield, Nebraska, the son of John Carl Johnson and Katherine Klassen-Johnson. John Carl Johnson was born in Berlin Germany and migrated to the United States at the age of 8 months with his parents. Katherine was from Kansas. George and his wife were lifetime cross country team truck drivers, with a highway ministry of helping the less fortunate everywhere they went. George was baptized in Weatherford Texas by Hayseed Stephens. George was a Master Mason in Estancia Lodge 33 Estancia NM. George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Ruth Turner Johnson; his mother, father and brothers, Harley, Fred, John, Robert, Ed, Orville, and Dewey Johnson; and sister, Mary. He is survived by two sisters, Edna and Kathryn Dalstedt of Arizona. Also survived by seven children, Evelyn Voncelle Harman and husband Paul of Edgewood NM, Teresa Elaine Myers-Johnson, of Estancia NM, James William Myers of Colorado, George Wayne Johnson, Carl Johnson, Sheila and Karen of Nebraska; many grandchildren, including, Arlo, Jacob, Brian, Ben, Misty Rose, John-Adam, and Kathryn and others from Nebraska, more than 10 great-grandchildren. George was loved by all who knew him and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
