Julian Severiano Lucero, 88, of Moriarty, NM passed away in Albuquerque on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Julian was born on August 7, 1922 in Albuquerque to Ramon and Gabrielita (Padilla) Lucero. Julian served in the “Army of the United States”. He was a crewman, AAA Auto Weapon: Overseas with Anti-aircraft Battery served as member of gun crew. Loaded and fired 40mm gun at enemy aircraft. He served in Normandy, starting at Omaha Beach and then on to Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He earned the American Theater Service Medal, Victory Medal, three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. He married Vicentita Tenorio in August 24, 1957. Julian was employed by the Veteran’s Hospital until he retired. He was a member of the VFW George O. Breece Post 401. He is survived by his son, Julian Claude Lucero of Moriarty, NM.
