Pearl "Yvonne" Smith

Pearl “Yvonne” Smith, 87, peacefully passed away at her home in Mountainair, NM on Sunday, August 22, 2010. Yvonne was born on October 16, 1922 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Nathaniel Floyd and Lillie (Fulfer) Anglin. She was a lifetime resident of New Mexico. She spent her childhood in Gran Quivera and as an adult lived in Mountainair. Yvonne married Wayne Edward Smith in Bernalillo, NM on June 25, 1941. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2002. She was a member of the Chuck Wagon Cowbells and the Claunch Women’s Club. Yvonne is survived by her sons, Glen Smith, Gary Smith and his wife Jill, and Gale Smith and his wife Marilyn; daughter, Anita Granger and her husband Warren; fourteen grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Hoyt Anglin, Emmitt Anglin, and J.W. Anglin; and sisters, Bernice Decker, Ruby Decker, Hazel Herring and Lola Fisher. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 9:00am followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00am at Assembly of God Tabernacle, on Highway 60, in Mountainair, NM. Pallbearers will be Nathanyel Smith, Stanley Smith, Nathan Smith, Chad Smith, Joel Granger, and David Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Wells, Ernest Copeland and friends and neighbors. Burial will follow the service at Mountainair Cemetery. Gale Smith will officiate. A reception for family and friends will be held at the campground.
