Opal “Doodle” Delone Williams, 99, peacefully passed away at her home in Moriarty, NM on Thursday, September 16, 2010. Opal was born November 3, 1910 in Georgetown, TX to James Monrow and Minie Belle (Reed) McFarland. She lived in the Estancia Valley for the past 72 years, coming from Cone, TX. She made dolls, collected coins, was a member of the American Legion, the Gardening Club, and helped start the Moriarty Historical Museum. Opal is survived by her sons, Bill Carter and Gene Williams; daughter, Pat Ensminger; sister, LaVeda Mae Lanier; four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, W.L. Carter and Loyd K. Williams; brothers, Herschel McFarland and Aubrey McFarland; and sister, Mavis Denton.
