Cristobal "Cris" Pohl

Cristobal D. “Cris” Pohl, 49, of Estancia, NM, passed away in Albuquerque, NM on Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Cris was born on January 12, 1960 in Mountainair, NM to Toney and Gloria (Madril) Pohl. Cristobal was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. He was a longtime resident of Estancia and a fifth generation public official. Cris served as County Assessor for two 4-year terms. He will be remembered for his good home-made burritos, pastelitos, cookies, and anything from the Food Channel. He enjoyed camping in the Manzanos and spending time at the lakes with his sons. Cristobal is preceded in death by his father, Toney. He is survived by his mother, Gloria; sons, Kriston and Kevin Pohl; and brother, Eric Pohl. There will be a rosary on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 7:00PM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:00AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM with Fr. Kevin Iwuoha officiating.. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Estancia, NM. Pallbearers will be Mike Pickett, Orlando Gonzales, Gilbert D. Pohl, Nick E. Sedillo, Frank Anaya, and Ed Brooks. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gilbert Pohl. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Estancia Valley Catholic Parish, PO Box 129, Moriarty, NM 87035.
