John W. Dixon, 90, passed away on January 20, 2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on July 27, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to the late William Bradford and Ethel (Gilcrease) Dixon. John was a 50 year plus member of the Master Masons of the Grand Lodge of Texas George B. Dealey #1312, a life member with 50 plus years of the Dallas Commander No. 6 Knights Templar of Dallas, Texas, a life member of the American Legion Post #0049, Life member with 40 plus years with the Elks Lodge #2500 in Rio Rancho, N.M. , a life member of the VFW Ike Cole Post 3370. John served in The New Mexico Mounted Patrol from 1974 through 1978. John was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nealia Ann Dixon; second wife, Beverly Effington-Dixon and great grandson, Robert. John is survived by his sons; Edward Dixon of McIntosh, NM and Gary Dixon of Albuquerque, NM and daughters, Beverly Jean Rogers of Dallas, TX, Pam Dolobi and husband Francis of Canton, TX and Laura Wood and husband Manuel of McIntosh, NM. John was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Lions Club in Moriarty, New Mexico. Pastor John Moffett will Officiate.
