Helen Lucero Maestas

Helen Lucero Maestas, 90, passed away on January 18, 2018 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on March 6, 1927 in La Cienega, NM to the late Isidro and Maria (Torres) Lucero. She was a lifetime resident of La Cienega and a lifetime member of the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Punta De Agua, NM. Helen was a caretaker for many years of the La Cienega Catholic Cemetery. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband David B. Maestas and sister, Senaida Lucero. Helen is survived by her great nephew, Stephen F. Torres and Rhoda Lajeunesse of the home; godson, Stephen J. Torres of La Cienega, NM; niece, Glenda Torres and husband Joe of Mountainair, NM and sister in law, Josephine Purcella of Albuquerque, NM as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral will be held at the St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, New Mexico. A Viewing will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. The Celebration of Mass will be on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Father Bob Peccatiello will Officiate. Pallbearers will be Raymond Maestas, Martin Purcella Jr., Chad Ross, Raymond (Mono) Torres, Delfinio Roybal and Danny Maestas. Interment will be at the La Cienega Cemetery in La Cienega, NM.
