William Robert "Bob (Redneck)" Casey

August 30, 1945 — October 22, 2017

William Robert “Bob (Redneck)” Casey, age 72, passed away at his home in the arms of his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce Long (Angel) Casey, on the morning of Sunday, October 22nd. Born in Alabama, Bob was true to the south in many ways. He was a proud Veteran. He was a man who loved fast cars and was involved in the early days of NASCAR. In 1971, Bob and his family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where he owned and operated a very successful diesel repair shop for many years. He spent his remaining years in the east mountains of Albuquerque, New Mexico and the past 7 winters near Yuma, Arizona, where he met many wonderful friends from all over the United States and Canada. As an avid believer in using resources, he sold water tanks for the purpose of water harvesting in many areas of the western United States. Bob aka Redneck was an avid motorcyclist involved in ABATE, a member of the Black Berets MC and the New Mexico Patriots, as Road Captain. He never met a stranger and helped others along the way, leaving behind many loved family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his Mother, Betty Casey; Stepfather, Rex Casey; Biological father, Maury Durden; Brothers, Russ and Wayne Casey; and sister, Mamie Clowdus. He is survived by his wife Joyce (Long), daughters Michele Casey (Mike Gallaher) and Cheri Bornmann (Ger Bornmann); his granddaughter Santana Franz (Dylan Beck) and his beloved great grandson, Hayden Jesse Casey Beck; brother Tom (and Sheila) Casey, and his brother-in-law, and long-time best friend, Pete Clowdus, a host of nieces and nephews; and close family friend, Mike Greenwood, whom he considered a son, and his children Colby and Jacob. He will be missed by many.
