Elena C. Gurule

Elena C. Gurule, 104, passed away on June 4, 2017. She was born in Escobosa, New Mexico to the late Alberto and Sara (Torres) Chavez on March 8, 1913. Elena was a lifetime resident of Willard New Mexico and an Elementary School teacher for the Estancia Public Schools. She belonged to the Our Lady of Sorrows Altar Society, Willard Senior Center and competed in the Senior Olympics. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Epifiano Gurule; son, Joe E. Gurule and numerous brothers and sisters. Elena is survived by her grandchildren, Randy Gurule (Roberta), Arnold Gurule and Eric Gurule (Teresa); great grandchildren, Lina Garcia (Ignacio), Antonia Gurule (Ben Siegan), Marisol Gurule, and Amber Garcia (Issac); great great grandchildren, Alicia Compos, Cynthia Compos (Fernando Lopez), Alina Garcia, Ignacio Garcia Jr., Kaleb Siegan and Kaia Seigan. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday June 15, 2017 at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard, New Mexico. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 A.M with the Celebration of Mass to follow at 11:00 A.M. Father Bob Peccatiello will Officiate. Interment will be at the El Rosario Cemetery in Willard, NM.
