Filandro Anaya

Filandro Anaya, 90, passed away on May 6, 2017, at his home in Moriarty, N.M. Born on March 27, 1927., the second child of Lauriano and Eufracia (Martinez) Anaya. Filandro was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and attended Moriarty High School. Filandro joined the United States Army, serving during WWII and was station in Fort Knoxville KN. Filandro was Married to Stella for 61 years and together they raised 9 children. Carmen and husband Bill Ehlers, Freddie Anaya and partner Susan Danke, Lloyd and wife Lucile Milton, Joann and husband Socorro Hernandez, Diane and husband Steve Gutierrez, Filandro R (Phil) and wife Odette Anaya, Danny and wife Janet Anaya, Louie Anaya, Kristen and husband Jesus Segovia.
In addition to his parents, Filandro was preceded in death by his sister, Manuelita “Cookie” Konz, her husband, Owen Konz and brothers, Antonio Anaya and Ralph Anaya. Daughter Celestina Anaya; nieces, Angie Davis Bynum, Marilyn Kelly, Kristie Pena and Shirley Kay Anaya; nephews, Baby Robert Anaya Nick and Max Pena; brother-in-law John Davis, and sister-in-law Elnora Anaya.
Filandro is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Mike and Mary Anaya, Carlos and Shari Anaya, all of Moriarty; brothers Tomey Anaya of Albuquerque, N.M., Gabriel Anaya of Las Cruces, N.M., and former Governor Toney Anaya and his wife Elaine of Santa Fe, N.M.; sisters Rita Davis of Moriarty, and Mary Louise Jaramillo and her husband Pat of Odessa, TX; 22 nieces and nephews, and numerous great and Great-Great nieces and nephews and grandchildren. Filandro was among 5 generations which consisted of Daughter Carman and her Daughter Ceann, her Daughter Britney and her Son Riley.
A Viewing is scheduled on Wednesday May 10, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty. A Rosary will be held on May 10, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty on Thursday May 11, 2017. Celebration of Mass is at 10:00 A.M., followed by Internment at the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers will be Richard Anaya, James Anaya, Adam Milton, Jesus Segovia, James Hern, Jason Montano, Kyle Smith and JR Montano. Arrangements are entrusted to Harris-Hanlon Mortuary.
