Ida Maria Lujan Maldonado

Ida Lujan Maldonado passed away on April 24th 2017 surrounded by her family and close friends. She was very faithful loving and caring beautiful soul. She was a very caring and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to care for others & had great unconditional love for her family & friends. She was a very faithful woman till the end with a lot of joy happiness & full of life even through tough times. She worked in Fort Stanton, NM as a housekeeper in her younger years and was a longtime member of the Alamogordo Senior Center where she loved to socialize and dance and listen to her favorite music she found great joy and happiness there surrounded by all her close friends whom she loved and were very dear to her. Ida found great joy and happiness in helping and caring for others even if she didn’t know them. She touched so many lives and hearts and brought much joy and happiness to others throughout her life journey. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and will always be our beautiful red bird flying so free from the heavens up above. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ramon Lujan and Lucia Salas; husband, Antonio Maldonado as well as her brothers and sister. Ida is survived by her sons, Pete Maldonado of Redding, CA and Carlos Maldonado of Alamogordo, NM; daughters, Ramona Maldonado of Abilene, TX and Lisa Maldonado of Las Cruces, NM; sister Mary Garcia; grandchildren, Gregory Ramirez, Adrianna Garcia, Anissa Barron, Katina and CJ Lueras, James Barron, Gilbert Barron, David Veloz, Antonio Maldonado, Daniel Maldonado and Carleigh Maldonado and great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Eliana, Darien, Demetrius, Aziah, Esperaza, Amadeus, Adrien, Noel and Haley. A Rosary will be recited on Friday May 5, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Torreon, NM. The Celebration of Mass will follow at 11:30 A.M. Father Bob Peccatiello will officiate. Interment will be at the Torreon Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pete Maldonado, Carlos Maldonado, James Barron, David Veloz, Gilbert Barron and Frank Salas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Louise Salas, Eusebio Barela, Clemete Lujan and Leo Chavez.
