Jack Peet went to meet his Lord on April 23, 2017 in Albuquerque, after a short bout with cancer. Jack was born at Hobart, OK General Hospital Aug 11, 1932 a few minutes after midnight according to his grandma Peet. The birth certificate, however, says Aug 10, 1932. His birth certificate lists his name is Darrell Derward Peet but all his records say Darrell Jack Peet and he was always known as Jack. His parents who preceded him in death are Roy Jennes Peet and Augusta Daisy (Wales) Peet buried in T or C, NM. Jack attended school in Hobart and Mountain View, OK. Jack studied photography at Ransom Studio and Aviation at Hunter flight school in Hobart, OK in his teens. At age 17, Jack joined the Army and served for 4 years. He was honorably discharged with a rank of sergeant in the field of radio and electronics. He completed high school while in the Army. Jack married Charlotte Lucille Sparks in Tucson Arizona. They were married after only two months. They were married for 60 years, until her death in 2014. Jack and Charlotte built there dream house in Edgewood, NM. Where they lived and served for 25 years. They had to move to Albuquerque because of Charlotte’s health. Jack served the volunteer fire department as an EMT and dispatcher. He volunteered at the Edgewood Senior Center. He served as facility director and supervised the construction of an addition, helped with benevolence, and was an elder at Valley View Christian Church. He is survived by his son, Carl James Peet and Elizabeth Peet and daughter, Nanetta Landry and Norman Landry. Grandchildren: Lonny Peet, Christina Nunez, James Landry, Tanya Landry, Jessica Hommel, and Christian Landry. Great grandchildren: Yesinia Nunez, Malachi Nunez, Andrew Hommel, Noah Hommel, Griffin Peet, Evren Peet, Payton Harrison, Erika Harrison, and Arianna Landry. Services will be at Valley View Church in Edgewood, NM, Friday, April 28, 2017 at 9:00 A.M.
