Stephen Andrew Novel Jr.

Stephen Andrew Novel Jr., 88, passed away on March 15, 2017 in Tijeras, New Mexico. He was born on January 28, 1929 in Chicago, IL to the late Steve B. and Sophie Novel. Stephen served his country proud in the United States Army during the Korean War. On February 7, 1953 he married his soul mate Marjorie Hines. Stephen ran his own business in Morton, IL for 25 years. He loved to socialize and play golf. He also enjoyed participation as a member of the Knights of Columbus. After he “retired” he moved with Marj to Raymond, Maine. After living there for 10 years, they moved to Tijeras, NM where they made their home for the past 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, replacing his efforts every spring. He had a huge heart, he loved God, and he loved his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is also preceded in death by his son, James Andrew Novel, son in law, Gerald Kline, grandson Jason Crutcher and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Stephen is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie Helen Hines Novel; son, Stephen (Pam) Novel; daughters, Nancy C. Kline and Amy J. (Andy) Smith and sister, Terri Coffey. Stephen was blessed with 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday March 28, 2017 at the Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras, NM. The Rosary will be recited at 9:00 A.M. with the Celebration of Mass to follow at 10:00 A.M. Father Granito will Officiate. The Internment will be on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the Holy Child School in Tijeras, NM.
