Russ Lee Fish, 69, passed away on March 15, 2017. He was born on August 2, 1947 in Portales, NM. On August 10, 1968 in Ft. Sumner, NM he married Anita Joyce Jones. Russ was a Navy Rescue Diver in the United States Navy. He was Captain of the California Rifle Team and an underwater welder but his true passion was the outdoors. Hunting and Fishing were his favorite pastimes. Russ was a longtime resident of NM and a member of the First Baptist Church in Edgewood, NM. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Russ is preceded in death by his parents, Troy A. Nix and Joyce (Moorehead) Fish; step father, Tom Fish; son, Kody Fish and brother, Tommy Dale Fish. He is survived and will forever be remembered by his beloved wife, Anita J. Fish of Moriarty, NM; daughters, Kalgaree Fish of Moriarty, NM and Kassee (Janet Montano) Fish of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Troy T. (Lisa) Nix of Albuquerque, NM, Johnny (Charlotte) Fish of Capitan, NM and David Fish and sisters, Joy (Tommy) Padilla of Quemada, NM and Brenda (John) Marshall of Texas. Russ was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Alec Estrada and fiancé Haley Scheller of Hobbs, NM, Kyle Estrada of Hobbs, NM and Briece Estrada of Moriarty, NM. A Visitation will be on Friday March 17, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, New Mexico. The Funeral Service will be on Saturday March 18, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Edgewood, NM at 10:00 A.M. Jr. Pastor Danny Clements will Officiate. A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. at the Floyd Cemetery in Floyd, NM. Pallbearers are Michael Fish, Aaron Fish, Larry Gallant, Kenny Walker, Bill Hildebrand, Jason McLaughlin and Tyler Cordova. Honorary Pallbearers are Troy T. Nix, Skyler T. Nix, Johnny Fish, Jimmy White, Morris Foster, Bill Nelson, Ray Moffit and Logan Miles Nix. Donations and Flowers will be accepted at the First Baptist Church in Edgewood, NM.
