Gary Lynn Papenhagen

Gary Lynn Papenhagen Was born February 8, 1953 to Walter A & Helen G Papenhagen in the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings NE. During his school years he earned the rank of Eagle Scout with the help of Ray Van Patten’s leadership. He graduated from the Hastings Public Schools system in 1971. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. From there he continued his nationwide education of people and places. Mostly through his adventures in Hitchhiking. He settled in Albuquerque New Mexico. Gary later completed his Mechanical Engineering Degree at the University of New Mexico. Continuing his love of music, singing and playing in church bands. Branching from there he moved into playing for Irish and Scottish Dances. Gary also organized his own small bands. Gary was preceded in death by his father Walter A Papenhagen and grandparents Fredric and Anna Papenhagen and Verna Peery. He leaves behind his mother Helen, sister Janet Glowka and brother Dean Papenhagen. One nephew Scott Papenhagen, his wife Carrie and their three boys Cullen, Grant and Kaizer. Two nieces Aerie Glowka, and Tara Glowka and her children Kalistra and Rialee. As well as many friends and violin/string enthusiasts who all enriched his life.
