Pearl Leona Burns Goar passed away on November 29, 2016 in Portales, NM. Pearl wrote her obituary on June 5, 2009 Pearl Leona Burns Goar was born February 25, 1922 in Roger Mills County, Strong City, Oklahoma to Roscoe and Willie Clyde Burns. She came with her parents to Mountainair in January l928. They moved from here to Stanley, NM that fall and back to Mountainair the fall of 1929 on a farm North of Punta. Her parents farmed North of Mountainair until after the harvest of 1931, when her father had to give up farming and moved back to town. From here the family moved West of Magdalena in the spring of 1933 and then back to Mountainair in the fall of 1934. Pearl was united in marriage to Darnell Goar July 4, 1940. To this union two children were born, a son, Glenn Goar of Mountainair and a daughter, Darla Autrey of Elida, NM. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Darnell Goar, her parents, Roscoe and Clyde Burns, 3 brothers, Earl Burns, Raymond Burns, C. T. Burns, a grandson, Dale Goar and a great granddaughter, Ashley Goar. She is survived by her children, Glenn Goar and wife, Lynda; and Darla Autrey and husband, Leon; three grandsons, Larry Autrey and wife, April, of Mountainair, Jimmie Autrey and wife, Tina, of Christovol, Texas and Dewayne Goar of Alto, NM; four Great Grandsons, two Great Granddaughters, five Great Great Granddaughters, and three Great Great Grandsons. Also many Nieces, Nephews and other family members. She is also survived by her kitty, Lady. Pearl was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mountainair. She was a member of the Mountainair Fire Department Auxiliary for several years where she served as Sec. Treas for one year for the NM State Firemen’s Auxiliary Association. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 49 and a member of the Mountainair C.B. Club. Services will be on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Mountainair with Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial will be at the Mountainair Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Dewayne Goar, Ty Goar, Larry Autrey, Jimmie Autrey, Joe Don Autrey and Kenny Burns. Honorary Pallbearers will be all family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: NM Boys Ranch, Belen, NM Baptist Children’s Home, Portales or to First Baptist Church, Mountainair. Harris Hanlon Mortuary were in charge of the arrangements.
