Joe B. Esquibel Sr.

Joe B. Esquibel Sr., 93, passed away on November 18, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on September 6, 1923 in Tierra Maria, NM to the late Jose D. and Eufemia (Valdez) Esquibel. On September 10, 1952 he married the love of his life, Sophie R. Garcia in Tierra Maria, NM. Joe served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Estancia, NM. He was a longtime resident of NM and was a devout Christian. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Odlia, Lucy, Ida and Helen and brothers, Rudy, Dorotao and Jose. Jose is survived by his wife, Sophie Esquibel of McIntosh, NM; sons, Joe Esquibel Jr. (Roseanne), Albert Esquibel (Isabel), Moses Esquibel (Kathy), and Ernest Esquibel (and good friend, Albert Chavez) all of Albuquerque, NM and Michael Esquibel (Rosalind) of McIntosh, NM; daughters, Carla Esquibel (Louie) of Albuquerque, NM and Dodie Vasquez (Tom) of Denver, CO and sister, Stella Galbadon of CA. Joe was blessed with 34 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday November 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Moriarty Civic Center in Moriarty, NM. Pastor Michael Esquibel will officiate.
