David Eugene Roberts

David Roberts, 84, passed away on September 13, 2016 in Edgewood, NM. He was born on December 21, 1931 in Indiana to the late William and Elizabeth Roberts. For 20 years David served his country with honor in the United States Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam War. For almost 40 years he served with the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department as a Fire Fighter, Fire Chief, Emergency Medical Technician and Treasurer. David has lived in Edgewood, NM since 1975 and was a member at Bethel United Methodist Church in Moriarty, NM. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Toni Walker. David is survived by his beloved wife Essie Belle Roberts of Edgewood, NM; sons, Larry Walker Sr., Allen Walker; daughter and son in law Valerie and Damon Barnes and sisters Kate and Annie. David was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Anson Walker, Aaron and his wife Marla Walker, Jennifer Walker, Cyndi and Juanita Schlauger as well as 5 great grandchildren Calista Walker, Dahlia Walker, Candice, Tyler and Braxton Schlauger. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday September 24, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Bethel UMC in Moriarty N.M. Pastor Bill Winscott will officiate.
