Robert P. Silva, 84, was called to Heaven July 6, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born on January 7, 1932 in Monticello, New Mexico to the late Jesus and Avitacion (Padilla) Silva. On September 3, 1955 in Monticello, NM he married his soulmate Grace Sullivan. Robert served his country during the Korean War in the Unites States Army and was a Combat Veteran. Robert was a rancher, a member of the Elephant Butte VFW Post 1389, the American Legion, the Moose Lodge as well as the Eagles Lodge in Caballo, NM. His family as well as many lifetime friends will greatly miss Robert as he meant so much to them. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Lizzie Silva and brother in law, Ira Bourguet. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Grace Sullivan Silva; daughter, Debbie Biel and husband George and his children; son, John Silva and wife Sharon and her children; brothers and sisters, Rosie Bertha and husband Joe, Leroy and wife Angie, Phillip and wife Gloria and Dan and wife Angie as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Robert was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Rosary is to be recited on Thursday July 14, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Truth or Consequences, NM. The Celebration of Mass will be on Friday July 15, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Marcos Reyna Officiating. A Reception will immediately follow the Mass. Our Lady of Perpetual Help is located at 515 N. Date Street in T or C, NM 87901. Pallbearers will be Domonic Silva and David Silva. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gina Chavez, Kito Valenzela, Jacqueline Tarricone, Bobby Chavez and Ian Stephens. Interment will be at the Monticello Cemetery in Monticello, NM at a later date.
