Maria "Tita" Valdez

Maria “Tita” Valdez, 76, passed away on May 24, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on January 19, 1940 in Taos, New Mexico. Tita was a devout Catholic and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her birth parents, Guadalupe Romero; and Abraham Vigil; father, Amarante Juan Romero and mother Otilia Romero; beloved husband, Fred Valdez of Mora, and great granddaughter, Anna Marie Martinez. Tita is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Miguel and Rachel Valdez, Fred L. Valdez , Marcus Valdez; daughters and son in law, Anna M. Valdez-Martinez, and Juanita and Frank Gallegos , sisters, Priscilla Romero Hughes of Albuquerque, NM, Gloria Herrera and Tillie Martinez of Santa Fe, NM. Tita was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, honorable mention Pablo Martinez of Espanola, NM; Robert L. Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM and Denise Maese-Valdez of Santa Fe, NM. A 6:30 P.M. viewing followed by Rosary is to be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday May 31, 2016 at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Celebration of Mass will be on Wednesday June 1, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Leo Ortiz officiating. Pallbearers will be Paul Martinez, Rodney Martinez, Adrian Kilkenny, Matt Valdez, Robert Gallegos and Abe Valdez. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Valdez, Joseph Valdez and Ronny Herrera. A reception will follow the Mass at the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Santa Fe, NM at 833 Early Street. Arrangements were entrusted to Harris Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, New Mexico.
